Does its exclusion of ‘Receive-only equipment intended solely for the reception of sound and TV broadcasts…’ apply to devices used in the home for listening to the TV? The answer in this case was No, because the device in question can also be used as assistive listening for purposes other than TV listening.
Our response is that it applies to all hearing loop system products (existing and new products) but we understand there is a transitional 12 months until 13 June 2017 in which equipment complying with the older R&TTE Directive can be placed on the market. We are waiting for official confirmation of this.
